Haricot Verts with Garlic and Herbes De Provence

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 Pound haricot verts (or green beans; trimmed)
  • 1 Large clove garlic (finely minced)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon Herbes De Provence (or dried thyme)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (fresh)
  • freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

Directions

Step 1
Blanch or steam beans for 2 - 3 minutes; drain well.
Step 2
Heat oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 3
Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Step 4
Add beans and cook until crisp but tender, about 4 minutes.
Step 5
Remove from heat, stir in salt, herbs, lemon juice and pepper; mix well.
