Eggnog French Toast

Eggnog French Toast

  • 6 eggs
  • 2 Cups eggnog
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1½ Teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 18-20 Slices bread (thick sliced)
  • 4 Tablespoons butter (divided)
  • ¾ teaspoon rum extract

Step 1
Grease two cookie sheets.
Step 2
In a medium, shallow bowl, mix eggs, eggnog, sugar, nutmeg, vanilla and rum extract until well blended.
Step 3
Cut each slice of bread with decorative cutter, if desired.
Step 4
Dip each slice of bread in egg mixture; place on prepared cookie sheet.
Step 5
Cover with foil and freeze for 1 to 2 hours, until completely frozen.
Step 6
When ready to bake, pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.
Step 7
Remove bread from freezer; melt butter and brush one side with half of melted butter.
Step 8
Place buttered side down on cookie sheets.
Step 9
Bake 15 minutes.
Step 10
Brush top with remaining butter, turn each slice over, and continue to bake until golden brown, about 10 more minutes.
Step 11
Remove from oven and serve immediately with butter and syrup.
